These past weeks in particular has been incredibly productive for us as a team, and we’ve accomplished quite a bit, all of which will be explained thoroughly in this update.

Production Environment

We’ve put a lot of work into setting up the development/production environment and making duplicates of the servers. This will be the location where we’ll test all future updates before deploying them to production. There’s also been a lot of things planned behind the scenes regarding workflow for the new hires (git branching strategies, tasks delegation, etc), all of which is in motion currently.

Platform Updates / Changelog

With the release of the alpha just two weeks ago, we’ve been hard at work updating and improving it throughout, adding necessary features and fixing small bugs and such. We’ve currently implemented the following:

- Sorting has currently been implemented on the “Browse Jobs” page.

- The “Search” bar has been moved to the top of the page so we have more spacing on the left.

- The “Search” bar has been implemented on the “Browse Jobs” page, with informative text as a result when nothing is found.

- Facebook & Google login functionality is now active.

- Facebook & Google login functionality is now also working on the “Register” page.

- An authentication issue, in which a logged-out user could still see their user info, has been fixed.

- An issue, in which if you quickly clicked on the “Submit” button multiple times, it would post multiple jobs, has been fixed.

- The “View Specific Job” page has been added. Now you can click on any job in the “Find Work” page.

Example of a Specific Job

- The “Explore All Categories” button has been hidden on the homepage, primarily because all the categories are listed there already.

- The “Latest News On Our Blog” section has been hidden on the homepage as we don’t want to focus on blog functionality until we finish all of the platform’s important features.

- The URL for a category has been changed to /cat/ instead of /category/. This will save us some space in URLs for other queries/parameters.

- The Categories icons have been linked with proper URLs on the homepage, and are clickable now. Each Category link inside the footer has also been linked with proper URLs.

- The “Navigation” bar now contains active class functionality, meaning that the “Navigation” bar will highlight the page that you’re currently on

- Small typos have been fixed here and there

This following week, we’ll begin to work on developing the payment gateway and further integration of the Stipend blockchain into the platform, as well as regular updates of pages as we finish them.

New Developers

In order to speed up the development time-frame of the platform, we’ve realized the necessity of hiring proficient VUE.js developers. As a result, we’ve hired two additional developers whom have just started working alongside us.

New VUE.js Developers

Stay posted for updates of their progress, they will allow us to push substantial updates more frequently.

Whitepaper / Website

We’ve recently been working on greater organization as a team, and as a result we’ve made the decision to update and finalize a new, cleaner whitepaper and website through which to re-brand and improve Stipend’s image as a whole.

  • Regarding the whitepaper, everything is currently written and is in the process of being finalized. We understand that the whitepaper is the main document that individuals look at first when making the decision to invest — as a result we are ensuring that it’s well written and explains our mission and technology in a clear and eloquent manner.
  • Regarding the website, it will also be finished in this coming week. When designing the website, we decided to create it with more of a focus on the platform than the coin. Its main goal is to redirect as much traffic into the finished platform as possible while still highlighting the main features of the coin.

Guides / Wiki

We’ve recently updated and reworked all the guides and documentation associated with Stipend and hosted it all on our new Github wiki, located at https://github.com/Stipend-Developer/stipend/wiki. If you have any questions or problems, start by looking for the solution here and then ask for assistance in Discord if not resolved.

Github

Regarding Stipend’s Github, we recently went through and reorganized the code-base, making it much more user-friendly and efficient.

Partnerships

We’ve recently been in contact with one of the top-10 tech companies in the world. Although we can’t say much at these early stages, we’ve had a few very productive meetings with them and are currently working on a functional partnership. If everything continues to go well, we’ll release more information regarding the company and how they intend to support both Stipend as a coin and a platform.

Delta Blockchain Summit

The Delta Blockchain Summit is yet another event in Malta, this time organized by the Officials of Malta. Since we plan to base Stipend in Malta, getting in touch with the government through their main blockchain events are a must. We will be hearing back from them pretty soon and as always will keep you updated on the developments.

Organizational / Legal Reform

We’re almost finished establishing Stipend as a legal LLC. Everything is being worked out, our paperwork is finalized, and we intend to soon have everything in place with such. Not only will this allow us to greatly improve our legal standing in a crypto-sphere fraught with scams and the like, it’ll greatly help with any future partnerships.

We are also currently reworking Stipend’s team structure and dynamics to improve our organization and communication. As mentioned above, we are working with a consultant group as of now to help finalize any corporate paperwork to help build the legitimacy and security of our company. More so than this, there has also been a major push for more organization and internal auditing for expenses and taxes. We also are working on internal audits to help better manage funds and other resources in the most efficient manner.

Roadmap

We’ve also recently released an updated version of the roadmap that helps to better illustrate our goals and ideas that we’ll be focusing on in the coming months.

Stipend Roadmap

Marketing Campaign

This upcoming week we plan to launch an extensive marketing campaign with the release of the new website and whitepaper. It will be characterized by two main strategies — a new Bitcointalk thread, in which we will announce a large bounty program and signature campaign, and outreach to individual, selected crypto influencers.

Stipend is Currently Listed on IDAX

More so than this, IDAX has assured it will be finally launching it’s own marketing campaign concerning Stipend this week as well. Tomorrow we should have more detailed information regarding the timeline.

Mobile Wallets

This week we’ve begun the process of creating mobile wallets for Stipend for both iOS and Android. We expect to have both fully developed within the next few weeks, releasing iOS first with Android following. If you have any suggestions or ideas to help with the development process feel free to let us know.

CryptoBridge Issues

Regarding the situation with CryptoBridge, they’ve let us know that they’re currently working on resolving users’ deposit issues and missing funds. This past week, they have begun to pay back individuals whom have had their funds frozen, but are yet still extremely backlogged due to the dozens of new coin listings that they’ve decided to allow. They told us that they’ve paid most users affected. If you still have issues, please feel free to contact us and we will work with them to resolve it as soon as possible. We cannot access their back-end or manage their business model, but we will continue to hold them accountable if need be for missing funds.
